Many projects or flows have the same pattern. When creating a new project that follows the same pattern as an existing one, for example, it is more productive to duplicate (create a copy of) an existing one. In this article you will learn how to create a copy of a Job, whether it is a Project or an existing Flow.
Duplicating a Job
1 - Access the Job you want to duplicate.
2 - Access the job settings by clicking on "Options" and "Configure"
3 - In the opened settings window, click on "Options" and "Duplicate"
4 - A new window will be shown. In it you must choose which information will be duplicated along with the Work. Be aware of these options, as it will not be possible to undo, only by deleting the Duplicate Work.
Understand the settings below
job title
This is the title of the new Job that will be created from the current one.
Tasks
If this option is checked, all existing tasks in the Current Job will be copied, keeping their links. Only the following task information will be kept:
- Name
- tags
- Description
- Category
- Priority
- Points
- Company
- Check list
phases
If this option is checked, all tasks of type "Phase" will be copied. Tasks that are linked to Phases, the link will be maintained, maintaining the entire hierarchy.
deliverables
If this option is checked, all tasks of type "Deliverable" will be copied. Deliverables are used in "Flow" type Jobs. Tasks that are linked to Deliverables, the link will be maintained, maintaining the entire hierarchy.
members
If this option is checked, all participants of the current Job will be kept and will be linked to the tasks of the new Job. If unchecked, the Work and Tasks will have no linked members.
Maintain original state of tasks
If this option is checked, all jobs in the new Job will keep the same states (status and stage) as the current Job at the time of copying. If this option is not checked, all tasks, phases and deliverables will be copied to the new job in the "New" state, which is the initial state of a task.
